Another Carbon-15 question

I don't know much about the Carbon 15s. But, have recently been approached by a co-worker who has one and needs some money.

My questions are:

1. Do other AR-15 uppers and stocks work on these lowers?
2. What are they worth, really? He showed me an MSRP of $1029 for his Carbon 15 97 Carbine.

I haven't laid eyes on it yet but he says he has only taken it out and shot it three times. With a total of about 400 rounds through it.

A grand seems like a bit much to me if I can't put other uppers on it, and with other complete guns or builds running around 700 - 800 for a carbine.

The Professional Ordnance Carbon-15 Type 97 were way overpriced in their days. Since Bushmaster took over the rights to them, you can buy them for much less money at a much higher quality level.

Bushy has the Type 97 MSRP of $1039. Bushmasters which usually retail for $250 to $300 less than MSRP.

the C15M4 Type will accept standard AR15 parts.

It used to be that you couldnt swap the Carbon 15 stock for a std stock but now you can, so there is a 100% parts interchangeability between a Carbon model and a std AR.

I think this one is about a year old. Do you know when they made them compatable? I didn't get of of work in time today to get in touch with Bushmaster.
