I see where the aimipoint optics require a specific mount but what about the eotech stuff? I'm picking up a RRA flat top tomorrow and would also like to order an optic but am unsure about the mount.
Nope, it mounts right on top of your flattop receiver.

Heres the breakdown.
You want an A65 Revision F
There are 4 models. 2 are AA, 2 are N Cell
The N cell has about a 200 to 300 hour battery life, whereas the AA has a 1000 hour battery life.
The 510 Series is NON-Night Vision Compatible. The 550 Series IS Night Vision Compatible.
The 511.A65 Rev F (N Cell) ~ 299$
The 512.A65 Rev F(AA) ~ 330$
551.A65 Rev F(N Cell) ~ 330$
552.A65 Rev F(AA) ~ 360$
Tell me what model you want, and I can link you to the most affordable place. Most places don't carry all 4 models.
The N Cell model is significantly shorter than the AA model. 308's Eotech above is the AA model.
It will slide right onto your flat top. No worries

You mentioned the EOTech will mount right on a flattop AR-15. Will it co-witness with a standard front sight and with BUIS? Thanks!

It's kind of a hard photo to take, but here's what it looks like thru the ARMS40

You'll need a carry handle mount similar to this one:

The problem with carry handle mounts is you end up doing the prairie dog when looking thru the optic.
You could use a setup like this one minus all the BS. There is no guarantee your Eotech will co-witness when mounted on the forward position...not that it is really important though.

Do you have any pics? I plan on getting it for a future purchase of a Colt 6450 9mm and that doesn't have a flat top option.

This is adjustable, you should be able to get it co-witness w/ an EOtech.

Is the only diff between the 512.A65 Rev F(AA) ~ 330$ and the
552.A65 Rev F(AA) ~ 360$ nite vision capability? and if so can you point me in the right direction for either one?
thanks

Now that EOTech jumped the prices up, the cheapest I have seen an 512 go for is $360 and teh 552 goes foe $439. The only difference between teh 510 and 550 series is night vision capability and water resistance.
The 510 series can be submerged to 10ft and are NOt compatible with any NOD's that I know of.
The 550 series can be submerged to 66ft and are compatible with ALL generations of NOD's.
Unless you plan on swimming or using NOD, go the cheaper route.
