In a very scientific test(yea right), I found that the cheap Russian stuff 1984 vintage would go through a 12in tree, but not a 18 in one. Has anyone done tests with metal, cinder blocks ect?

Basically it's going to go through about as much stuff as a .30-06 FMJ lead core bullet will. They both can do about 2,800 fps or a little bit better. I've chronongraphed the 1980's vintage Russian, Hungarian, Chinese and Bulgarian. The 80's Russian steel case, steel jacketed bullet 148 gr. has an average speed of 2870 fps give or take 25 fps. The slowest stuff was the 148 gr. Chinese, seems to have a slow powder, lots of muzzle flash. It's doing only about 2650 fps. The Hungarian is just over 2,800 fps and the Bulgarian is about 2725 give or take 20 to 30 fps.

On penetration, I've shot through bowling pins at 220 yds. That's harder to do than you think. :D

Try joint compound bucket ice cubes. The ice is tuff to bust, but hit hard enuff it can be impressive. You have to be close to bust it with .44 mags and .45 acp won't.

For a real spectical freeze the ice so there is a hollow chamber inside and at night put a candle inside so you can see it.

It might be best to let any one that can hear this at night in on what yer up too, or you might see a little green man that wants your hunting lic.
