everything went together perfect except for the Brownells Aluma Hyde,
i let the stuff cure as directed.... even longer, it chips toooo easy, and the safety lever ate it alive!!!

Cool build there SP.
One thing I found I had to do was take a Dremel with a cut-off disc or stone, and grind the tit off the underside of the selector lever. This still won't stop the AlumaHyde paint removal where the level rides.
I started using Gunkote in the spray can from Brownells and after removing the nub from the selector lever, it doesn't scrape the paint off like with AlumaHyde.
Also putting a small piece of the smoother side of Velcro underneath the lever where the nub was, prevents paint removal.

SP,
Since the nub doesn't really engage anything, at least it doesn't on a OOW receiver, the nub is pretty useless anyway.
Velcro makes a version with adhesive tape on the back. I cut a small piece to fit without being seen.
I have air cured and baked Aluma Hyde2, and neither way has been satisfactory for me. It just doesn't hold up like Gunkote.
Like I said, Brownells has it in the spray can, and it does a fantastic job.
SP, You need to post your pistol pic in the AK pistol gallery.
It'll be a nice addition to the others. :)

built it from an AMD-65 kit, just added the Saiga grip
had it at the range, and everybody was asking.."WHAT THE HECK YOU GOT THERE BUDDY?"
