Put me down for leadership role for Michigan.

OSOK (not speaking for him) has certanly taken a step forward in the leadership position in Texas. I would also suggest him for our national chairman. I have met him in person and talked to him on the phone pertaining to this organization.

Just my dos centavos...

Rusty and I are definately on for Texas and we would be honored to act as as the national HQ as well - to funnel our "standards" for all of the states to work with. Speaking for us both :D

I'll do whatever is needed to make this happend.

Welcome Lone Star State.
Sounds Great! You are now in charge of the big state of Texas.
I think once we have maybe 25 states online we should have a vote for National HQ.
You are currently #1 on the Ballet.

I'm going to work up a coverage map and post it on my web site until we get our own site put together. I would post everything there, but it's a Russian site and I don't think it would be appropriate for our cause.

We need to get our own domain!

Lets not jump to far ahead of ourselves on the domain. Guns Network Staff has already said that he would help us more as this thing keeps building up steam (which it is) and seeing as we are using there bandwith(money) to get this thing organized I don't want to go setting up a website until we have talked to the owners here and seen where there stance is. Perhaps we can be linked somehow with a different domain name but under the Gunsnet "umbrella".

We must not forget that this started here, and Gunsnet deserves the due respect.

Well I am here to donate my time, and leadership for West Virginia..

My attention was brought to this from another board, and I am here with peace, unity, and hard work in mind to get our rights back..

Rusty;
You are correct, Gunsnet has been great. We should remain a team if at all possiable.

mike26038:
You are on for West Virginia, good to see someone from the east coast.

Deric Q. here, I can handle Virginia if y'all trust me to :D.

Florida is a pain in the ass state to handle probably cause of the curve. So I will just volunteer to distribute flyers if they are made around FSU, and other parts of Tallahassee, and just about anything else I can do in my spare time.

My volunteer efforts will be directed at the graphics department (flyer design, t-shirt design, button, magnets, bumper stickers, etc.). I can also volunteer for the distribution of said items and maybe set up a table at a couple of gun shows locally to help spread the word.

At 23 I'm too young to lead, but I'll do anything I can to help the Georgia section.

I'd like to volunteer to lead the Kentucky chapter, along with Got-Kalishnikov assisting me. I'm 24, though. I'm 8 months shy of the age minimum, but I have prior experience in leadership roles.

I've already begun telling people that there's a possibility of a march on DC. Those that I told seem interested in participating. As I said before, when this thing forms up I can drum up support via Eastern Kentucky University. Let me know, I'd be happy to help.

I second Ragin Cajun. I feel he would be an excellent asset to have in this project. I would volunteer to lead, but Cajun is a much better public speaker, and he knows a lot more like-minded people than I do. I will however, assist him in any way that I can.

Well since the age thing came up and I'm not 25 ya mine as well take me off of Michigan.

jman, important PM sent.

Looks like the age thing caught most of us... could that be dropped? I know I more than qualify for being a leader, since I am involved in the NRA and V.C.D.L. and V.S.S.A., and am also a V.S.S.A. sponsored Camp Perry shooter.

I think jman was just setting guidelines and not actual restrictions. If you can perform at that level, then I say go for it.

I do realize the need for basic requirements, but can interviews be set up to see if that person volunteering for his/her state can be trusted in that role?

It will give the interviewer an idea of how that person will perform his/her duties.

For those who are wondering why I haven't stepped up for the lead in Florida, I am partially deaf in both ears (was born this way) and have NO experience in public speaking and leadership abilities.

I can, however, assist and advise, and lend a hand in the development of the website, designing the graphics for our cause, and handing out flyers and helping spread the word.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

This does not preclude you from leadership. Only the PR Director will need to have public speaking skills. And even if you would rather not have a "leaderhip role" you can still be very active and contribute.

We will need all of the help we can get.

I'll help out as much as I can. I'm not going anywhere. :D

I think this is a great idea, long time coming.

So am I the chairman of the Kentucky chapter? I need to know so I can get to planning. I need to somehow get the addresses of every gun store and shooting range in the state. Ideas?

Everyone, Please go to the post "POLL" Min. Requirements for State Leadership (http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=249417) and cast your vote, I'm not trying to make any rules, this needs to be up to everybody. No one is being removed from the list until we've heard everyones opinion.

Ragin Cajun - You are down for Kentucky.

CelticDragon1972 - If you think you have the stuff, then volunteer. Your hearing is not going to set you back. It's whats in your head and heart that matters.

Just as fast as State Leaders are decided, it MUST be posted! I am anxious to get started in Texas, Lord knows it is a big state and there will have to be a lot of us - but we need a leader ( or leaders) ASAP.
God Speed.

I understand the concern - really. I think that once we announce Texas/national leaders, that more people will step forward. According to Guns Network Staff, we are getting a tremendous amount of hits in this sub-forum - in otherwords, people are watching.

I will see if we can't get things going.

It's hard though when your job is demanding - mine is hopping and so is Prometheus's right now. But we should be able to at least get to a point that we can announce and then start moving forward.

Stay tuned.

Could I suggest multiple leaders for regions within the larger and more populous states? Texas, PRK, Florida and NY all need at least two regions.

Please stay with us and anybody else that is intersted in state leadership, don't hesitate to chime-in.

Looks like I'm it to lead the Texas team. At least for now... so I am working to announce the full core team soon and then start the process of getting the states set-up and working on initial actions.

Please understand that we are all working folks that have busy jobs, and this takes time.

Also, please know that things are being done "behind the scene" to move ahead- like getting a separate web site, making political connections, getting advice from experienced people, etc..

This is a big job and we need to be sure of our course of action.
