Well here comes another one. Ordered my Turk yesterday. I've been wanting one and over at Parallax a couple a fellows reported they received near 100% blue, great bores and very decent wood. I already had a $10 credit with them so that makes the rifle $59 shipped. Had to do it. Didn't I? Gotta keep my Persian company with something else from that part of the world.

Ahhhh, Turks.
They grow on you too. They are about the absolute best firearm value of all time. :D

That's what I'm afraid of. The Armory is getting crowded as it is. Any idea where I can get a decent sling for one?

let us know what you get deal-a-meal. I've been wanting one but the $39. ones I've seen are scrap iron.
How mauch are WG&A Turks in vg-ex condition?

Take a gamble on a Turkish Tent Pole for $39. My $39 "good" condition Turk is indeed a solid "good" and shoots 3-5" 100yard groups even with a nasty bore. It IS brown though rather than blue- its antiquing very nicely.
Now I do agree that a 85-95% fine Turk is a sight to behold- well made as any Mauser.
Let us know what yours is like, maybe another one is in the future. Hmmm, how much could I get for a kidney...
Cheers!

Ezra, I looked a couple of the $39. good rifles over at AIM and I just did'nt want the tent pole.
The only way i would buy one is to use the action to build a different rifle. They are good for that.

Rifleman they've got them for $60 + $9 shipping in SGN. I believe these come with a bayonet also.

TheRifleman,
I was just about to say the $39 dollar rifles if the bores are rusted out make a cheap large ring action to use in building a custom bolt rifle on.
A buddy of mine did that and now has a 1000 yd rifle for highpower competition. He went with a 6.5 mm barrel. Don't recall if he went with the 6.5 X 284 or the 6.5 mm X .308 chambering. Humm, guess I need to ask him again and also how it's working out. :)

Well things couldn't get much better. Yesterday my boss tells me he gave the owner his two week notice. "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya." Today I'm taking a comp day. Beautiful out. Now the BBT pulls up. The Turk arrived from WG&A. Thought it was my Yugo SKS from I/O. I forgot I even ordered the Turk. Such is the Cruffler Curse. Anywho it's nice. Non matching but what do you expect. Real dry but pretty clean wood. Almost completely dent free and only a hint of cosmo. Nice wood to metal fit and finish. Will need a really good sanding. Metal is 95-98%. No mangled screw slots. Dore is dirty but the rifling looks strong. Bolt is slick and the trigger is sweet. It's a 1941 K-KAL. Bayonet is VG with oil soaked wood. Scabbard is G+. Cleaning rod is in the white. Way different from my Persian. More of a workhorse of a rifle instead of a finely crafted firearm. The only kicker is they didn't give me my $10 credit so the rifle was $69.95 shipped. I faxed them a note along with a copy of the invoice for the rifle and a copy of the email where the webmaster gave me the credit. I know he wasn't in when I placed the order. Hopefully they will straighten it out without further ado. I may take it out tomorrow and give it a try although I'm already taking more firearms than I care to clean the same day. Anyway I'm a happy camper. Time to start supper as I'm the first one home. Lets see where are those little cards at? Chicken, fish hmmm better deal myself a hand. :D

Dear Mr. Simmons-The Turks are fun guns ,and can be one of the most accurate C&R pieces (IMHO!).My $50.00 WG &A Turk shoots just as well as my $150.00 Turk from Allan's Armory-Go figure!:)My .02 worth-Gearhead.

Well, I ordered a VG-EX Turk from WG&A this morning. I hope it is a good one. Comes with bayonet and I asked if it had the cleaning rod and the girl said it may or may not. I hope it does. How much is a cleaning rod if it does'nt?

Cleaning rod could be from $10 to $20.
