Finally got around to firing my new flintlock that my wife got me Christmas, and it is great! :D I love this rifle! It's alot easier to load and clean than I was led to believe. So far I've only shot it at 50 yards, hopin to get back up to the gun club soon and sight it in at 100 yards. oh yeah, it's a Traditions 50 cal Deerhunter, black synthetic stock.

Yes, flinters are addicting. It is a good idea to get with someone locally who shoots them often, you'll learn a lot of things more quickly than when you learn by yourself. Look at the NMLRA, (National Muzzleloading Rifle Assn.), there is a wealth of knowledge to be found there for traditional muzzleloaders.
I have a Lyman GPR flintlock that I built from a kit, and if you want to try a kit gun, I highly recommend it.
