They have them at Dick's for 159.00 which seems like a good price to me, I haven't seen them online for under 180 or so before shipping and transfer. I've always wanted one of these rifles so I think I'll pick one up. Would a regular cheap airgun scope be sufficient?

That is a good price for a 10/22... As for a scope I would recomend that you pick up a 3/9 adjustable scope, you can get them for around $40. You will be much happier then putting a cheap air scope on and having to replace it later.

That seems to be the going price sale price for one these days. I agree with Jericho on the scope. I put a 3-9 $40 special on mine and it works fine.

Go out and get the weaver base for the rifle, the scope will be far more stable on the gun over the 22 rail. The 3-9 scopes are great for general use too. Spend the extra money its worth it.

The 10/22 would also be a good low cost companion to the Mini-14 with a peep sight added in place of the open rear sight. I'm looking to make a stock with an AR-15 collapsible butt so I can retract so my children while allowing me to use it by changing the length.
