Does anybody have one of the early CZ-75's that came into the US many, many moons ago. What year was it brought in? Got a pic of those early ones?

Paul, early CZ-75's are identifiable by by the curved triggerguard and spurred hammer. Developed by the Koucky brothers, who worked at the state-owned arms factory Ceska Zbrojovka in the city of Uhersky Brod (Czechoslovakia, now Czech republic), production of the CZ-75 began in 1976. Hope this helps!

My main reason for asking was based on I have only seen one of these early models in the past. I was wondering how widely distributed they are in the US. Saw one at a dealer the other day and had a pretty steep price tag. He called it "rare". I know they are excellent fireams but I could buy a new SIG 226 for the price they were asking for the used CZ-75.

Paul, if you can find a 'First Issue' CZ-75 you can definitely expect to pay a premium. These were typycally imported by Pragotrade of Canada and one with a high gloss blued finish might be worth $900-$1,000 in NIB condition.

Wheeewwww! I guess he was actually a little low on the price then. They had it for $800.00. She was sharp. I don't remember any import markings. It was definatly an early CZ-75. I think I might have to go back and see about this one. Thanks, Steve!

I wish I had held onto the one I bought in Germany. Some came back with GI's who could buy them in the rod and gun clubs, they won't have import marks. ;)
