I have taken 22 calibers to the point of failure.
The only dangerous gun I have ever found is the CZ52. It has very little safety margin above the "Accurate Arms Load Book number two" data. The failure mode is a split slide and the extractor flys like shrapnel, or a split barrel and split slide with the extrator flying like shrapnel.
Most handloaders think that shooting 357 loads in a 38 special would be crazy and dangerous. If only they knew how much more safety margin is in that act compared to shooting factory ammo in a CZ52.
