Dove season opens Saturday here. Figured I needed another scattergun. I had hunted for years with either an old J.C. Higgins pump that has been in the family since the early 1950's or my trusty Remington Sportsman 58. Everything else is short barrelled turkey or slug guns. So, I picked up a Beretta Whitewing. My Pop has one and it's the sweetest shotgun I have ever fired. Looking forward to using this Saturday...

Good for you Paul, I have been thinking about an O/U but think I'll stick with my SxS and pump for a bit yet. They really screwed up the dove season in this state, starts Oct 1st and thay mostly have headed south by then. ;)

Ours starts Sept 3 to the 24 from noon to sunset. Starts back Oct 8 to Nov 5 from sunrise to sunset. I usually don't hunt the second half for the same reason you state. We usually do pretty well. For the last 6 or 7 years, my neighbor has had a Millet field. Really draws them in.
