If you haven't heard, the word direct from Russian American Armory (RAA) is that they will receive their first shipment of new Saigas at the end of September. Here's a link to their website: http://www.raacfirearms.com/

Rumors/issues include:
-They will be priced to distributors just slightly higher than before.
-They will not be allowed to import any 8 or 10 rd shotgun mags.
-Shotguns may include the new magazine well design seen on the latest Izmash models.
-Rifles may include a 7.62x54R version.

If this actually happens it will significantly alleviate the parts kit ban issue. Very cool.

Another rumor is they will be importing the 30 06 Saiga.
There have been more than enough rumors already. Soon we will know the facts. :hyper:

Gentlemen, this will mark the end of the Cold War. Somehow I don't think Springfield Armory will reciprocate with an M1A in 7.62x54R.

Wow, I was thinking about the .308. A Saiga in .30 06 would be something. An AK like that should come with recoil buffers from the factory.

Does this mean no big 12ga magazines will fit?

I don't care WHO imports them but I really NEED some 8rnd Saiga-12 mags for under $100

RAA is now advising they will not have the new Saigas until the end of October. My only question is in what year?

I hope they get moving on this so that I can try out a Saiga-12 before deer season! I went to buy one yesterday and found that all of these rumors about the limited supply were true. Somebody pinch me, this can’t be true! :(

We just placed our opening order with them for our first shipment of rifles and shotguns. We are very happy to be a Saiga wholesaler and cant wait until they get here!

PvtPyle, do you have any idea as to what kind of a price the Saiga-12 will be going for? Can the pistol-grip version be imported?

PvtPyle
10-11-2005, 11:12 AM
Not yet. Shipping fees and storage while Customs goes thru the shipment cant be figured in yet.

The pistol grips can not be imported on the form 6's they have approved. The ATF flatly told them "NO!". They are going to re-submit for LEO sales. But I am not confident that the ATF will sign off on it. We will be ding our own in house conversions with the required number of US parts. We hope to roll them out the first of the year.

Is it just me, or is it a fair conjecture that the Saiga-100s have a milled receiver?

PvtPyle
10-20-2005, 07:57 PM
RAA does not know if they are milled, or heavy walled stamped receivers.

For those that ask about prices, we have them up on our site now and are taking both retail and dealer pre-orders. http://www.fbmginc.com/rifles_%26_shotguns.htm Since we were ask, hopefully the admin wont get pissed about the link.

Awesome! PvtPyle, what's the ballpark cost to ship to WI (54486)?

PvtPyle

Shipping for a single rifle is $15, UPS ground.

Any word on when they wil be arriving?

PvtPyle

No. I have a store and a ton of pre-orders, so I am getting pretty anxious myself. I will be putting out the word pretty heavy when they get here though.

I would suspect that even if they were unloaded ashore next morning...

That it is really TOO LATE for them to be distributed and stocked by dealers with any reasonable expectation of christmas sales.

Meaning, it now matters not much that they will arrive early NEXT YEAR.

I have a feeling it was the usual suspects with paperwork and delays who screwed the Christmas rush.

I don't know how much stock to put into this, I have called RAA and left a message to try to speak with Debbie on it but have not heard anything back yet.

I heard from three different people, including a major player in the NFA business (they import a LOT of stuff from all over the world), another future distributor for RAA, and another importer that the Russians have not shipped the Saigas yet and will not be doing so for at least a year. They are too busy with the 100,000 AK's for Venezuala. It would not suprise me, this is typical Russian bullshit. Screw us over to make their own lives easier.

I don't know what to make of it, but missing the Thanksgiving dead line and RAA saying that they will not be shipping until the first of the year some time does not make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Eventually, if they don't bring in the Saiga-100 in 30-06, I will MAKE ONE.

Who knows what the real story is. I talked with the rep from Arsenal Inc about it at the gunshow. Asked him when he would be getting his. He said the govt. turned the ship around and sent it to Iraq to resupply our guys with ammo. Don't ya know more than half of them would love to trade in their A2s and shit for Kalashnikovs.

Hmmm, I dont usually like to get off topic, but are Saiga rifles California legal???

No they are not CA legal.

That is one of the more original lines of bullshit I have ever heard. The Russians are now selling ammo to our troops? The government has control over what commercial ships do with their cargo? Yeah, right....

Not that it evidently concerns the potential mfg./exporter regarding the Saiga line...

But -there has developed, from past importation, a following & culture around these particular firearms. This will largely be lost if they spend mich more time getting them re-imported...people simply will move on. I doubt if they understand this.

This does not really surprise me. Long ago, I noticed that russian nationals just don't seem to have the idea of business down very well...and, have personalities to match (too much soviet life?). The chinese appear, interestingly, to be born salesmen -verbal, interactive, fun and interested in their product and it's use.

I hope the russians can come out of the dark ages -and do some Saiga exportation this decade.

I miss the chinese guys...and their firearm products!

I could use another SAIGA 12 to perhaps convert this time. But all I see is pictures. If I wanted to look at one, I would look at the one I already have. The ban is gone and things tighten up. Its crap. papa

This is the end of the "week of the 23rd"...the latest THEY ARE GONNA BE HERE date.

And?

I never said that was the latest they were going to be here. I said sometime the week of the 23rd. And I was wrong. But with the size of our order, I can understand why. But they are in transit to us now, so all is well.

Lolly, did you get your order for one in?
