actually I have built 10 ARs, model 1 sales had the WORST service and I lost a $100 ACE stock returned to them because they are so disorganized, search previous threads for my review.
I had ordered several kits, thats a lot of money, and then they sent me the wrong stock but failed to exchange it or even say they received it. Their parts are sub-mil spec as well. So out of one small item, I get screwed and they lost the rest of my business. Sure I lost $100 in it, that pisses me off, but for their gratitude I will bitch about them forever and cause them to lose more business.
J&T and Rock River are great service and their parts are better, about %5 more expensive but worth it.

Brian at Model 1 Sales will bend over backwards to help you get what you need. I've been dealing with them for a year now with no problems whatsoever....

Hello
I have put a few ar's together, and dealing with Model1Sales wasn't the highlight of it by far.
I waited 5 weeks for shipping, and then had a bolt eventually crack through the cam pin hole at around 1500 rds
Before it broke I was thinking it was mostly a fluke, as it was right after the AWB sunset - Shipping was tough all over, but I asked if they could overnight another kit - The Rep gave me the nine yards about how the F am I to think I can get ahead of their other customers, which I stated, I was just asking...
Shortly after that while running my Ar built from their 16" CAR kit the bolt cracked.
I am happy to say from then on out I swapped over to J&T distributing and they are great!!!
Best of luck - and hopefully if you use them you get better service, and parts then I got.
My 2 cents

ordered a complete upper from them and got it in less than a week. the price was better than most. haven't had any issues with the ar so far. maybe you just got a bad bolt. i would find out who made the bolt and ask if they have recieved any complaints.

I've built several Ar's using Model 1 Sales parts the only trouble I have had was most of their anodized pieces have turned purple. They shot well. My some loves his. Just my $0.02

Ordered a complete kit minus receiver from them. Got it in about 4 working days. The Mag catch was out of spec. Called the next day and they sent me a new one. My rifle shoots fine and I'm satisfied with it so far.

I've bought 3 upper kits from them and their quality is from very good to excellent. Just some very minor stuff and since Im a meticulous person I gave one kit a very good rating but overall a great buy for your money

I bought from them when they were based in Illinois prices were good. Then they moved to my home state of TEXAS and their prices went up big time. The best companies I have found to deal with is STAG ARMS, DPMS, LAUER WEAPONY, VULCAN, AND DEL-TON!!!!!!!!
