I have a couple awesome looking M-48a's I got from AIM that look nearly perfect.

Is it worth it to buy an unissued M48 for $179.?

I think it would if the numbers are matching as well as the bayonets' number matches the rifle. Is this the case? Are the accessories that come with the unissued rifles also unissued?

I'm thinking about buying one of these if this is the case, as a collector rifle, not a shooter. A hard thing for me to do indeed because I like to shoot 'em, if ya know what I mean.

Any opinions????

I got mine from CDNN, the accessories were unissued looking too. The rifle looks like neilwest's on his post below. Very nice shape but has some small dings maybe four, and a small set of initials carved in the stock, bastard commie prick... I haven't shot it yet. Finsih is 98% or better, brand new looking barrel, bolt, receiver, stock- all of it matches except the bayo. I paid $180 for it. I considered sending it back becuase of the initials but decided not to.

I hate to say it but I got mine from Big 5 Sporting goods. They had a sale of unissued ones for $149.00 + tax. All numbers matched but the bayo. Rifle was perfect and I could not find a better price. They got it from Century at a better price then I could. I guess it's that qty. buy discount.

Ya the dealer cost on these was about $150 with all the accessories 2 years ago. Guess their going up.

Accesories should be in NIB condition for one of these Unissued type guns. But don't expect the bayonet to match the rifle. It should be new but it won't match.
