Here's my fav Saiga 12 baby, and south FL 3 gun contender that a buddy at the club ran through his pic program. The grass and plywood of the stage barracade is gone and what's left is pretty cool.

sweet, is it an open or limited class shotgun ? I haven't shot a match for 3 years since my daughter was born and lost rack of the rules.

Much thanks! Been busy. Sorry for the delay. It's "open" with IPSC. With non-IDPA matches in my IDPA club, it's not designated in any particular way.

Which choke do you use? I see holes drilled in it also, does it work pretty well like that?
I also use the SAW grip on mine and it was a huge improvement on the S12 over the factory style ak grips.
Nice job man. How well does the Kobra work on it?

Thanx for the reply, now is it open class because of the optics or mag feeding devices or both?

Negative on any "choke." That's the factory "muzzle attachment" in cylinder bore that can be exchanged with other choked attachments, but that one is cylinder bore, which is where it belongs for tactical use. I drilled two ports on each side pointing backward for a brake effect, and added two smaller ports straight up on the top for climb compensation. The device works very well. I plan to add a collar with vent channels to aim the gasses backward even more for maximum braking.
It's "open" division because of the optics. Thr Kobra has not failed me yet. I hyave had a couple of others die on me in the past, but this one has been on the money for those 50 yd + slug shots, as well as up close for buck or bird shot. I use the open centered "T" reticule. It works great for either scatter rounds or slug. You just have to use a different part of the T reticule at different distances.

Thats weird man, My factory nut doesn't extend any off the front of the barrel like yours does, only my chokes look like that. I also have the 19in threaded model.
Here is a pic of mine to show you what I am talking about. My nut is the one on the bottom right.

You are exactly right. If I remember correctly, there are like three Saiga 12 attachments: cylinder bore, mod, and full ckokes. The nut is just a thread protector, like those you get on some AKs. I have the cylinder bore attachment. It came with the gun, and I was happy that it was the cylinder bore. If it was the choked attachments, I don't know what I would have done, because I don't know where to get the other attachments or the thread protector nut. I would never run slugs through a choke, and I would have felt wierd about using the gun with bare threads on the muzzle.
Where in the heck did you get all those? Seems as if you have them all--well almost. You seem to be missing one. You got the Tantal flash hider? I prefer to go the brake/comp route, rather than the birdcage hider. It looks cool, but does nothing as far as compensating recoil or climb.
Where did you get the other attachments?

Actually, as far as I know, there is no Cylinder bore attachment, mainly cause my barrel is cylinder bore. I got mine from EAA when they magically found a bunch more a couple of months ago. The flashhider I got from Rusmilitary.com. I almost bought the Paradoz choke for slugs, but it really doesn't seem to make much of a diff over just using the barrel as is. A budy has one with a paradox, and I couldn't tell a diff in the accuracy using the 1oz winchester slugs in both guns.
What are the markings on your attachment?
Mine are:
Nut: unlabeled
Modified: M(0,5)
Full: F(1,0)
Both have KA^.12on them as well.
I am really curios as to what yours is stamped as I have never seen an open attachment for these. I would love to find one and make a brake out of it.
Surprisingly though, the flash hider I have actually does a decent job on muzzle jump along with the FH cabaility.
I love S12's. I am about to have mine converted to look like the SWAT model. We are drawing up different ways of doing the gas block/front sight right now, and I really want to put a Krink top cover on it to use its rear sights, but I can't find anyone with an extra yet. I mayu just have to buy some other type and weld it to the cover, or do rail mounted rear sight. I think XS sights has a rail attached rear night sight I could use.
We are also working on a 4 rail front end system in place of the existing hand gaurds. I doubt we will take on the whole Magwell thing though. It gets a little wierd having to modify mags for it, and having it be reliable. We may do that as well though, seeing as they would sell like a motha if we made them.
I'll let you all know how this little project goes.

I have the full set of Saiga 12 chokes w/ full, improved, cylinder and muzzle nut. The open choke that comes with threaded barrel Saiga 12's is marked K.A.A.12 and C(0,0)

Ditto on what hartzpad said. Mine's marked the same way C(0,0) I really don't see the point in having a thread protector and a screw on cyl choke tube. I'm currently having my muzzle nut converted to a screw on flash hider with one of johnny macs set screw sternum scrapers.
IJ I too wonder how much good the paradox actually does. I have the 4" one and can't really tell much difference with the rifled slugs that I've tried. Maybe it helps more with pumpkinballs. One thing it does do is make a hell of a shot spreader though. Throws a big donut!
I don't know if EAA has any left but I know someone who just bought some whole sets from them for $20 per choke tube. He's selling me a set. I also like my flash hider from rusmil. I think it does more than just sit there looking cool.

I got my choke tubes for $32 total from them, but I got a hook up a little I guess.
So, there is a Cylinder bore tube. WTF for? If the barrel is already cylinder bore, then why do you need a choke in the same? Weird
I thought they would be Improved, modified, and full. I was told they were out of the improved when I got mine. Never had a Cylinder bore offered to me either.
So, there are 4 choke tubes, a nut a flash hider, and a paradox?

That's what I mean. Why would you need a Cyl bore tube that is basically no more than a thread protector when they already have a thread protector. Maybe if you barrel was 18" and you needed a barrel extension? But wouldn't that have to be welded on? The manual lists four chokes for the S-12:
Full F(1.0)
Improved Mod M(0.5)
Improved Cyl IC(0.25)
Cyl C(0.0)
SAme thing for the S-20 except full is F(0.9)
The S-410 has 3,2,and 1 for Full, Mod, and IC
Then of course there are the paradox chokes in different lengths for all three.

He's right. Check the Siaga 12 manual at the EAA website.

The muzzle attachments are initialed as follows:
F (0.9)
M (0.5)
IC (0.25)
C (0.0)
The cylinder bore (mine) is C (0.0). I like it on because I converted it to a brake/compensator. Otherwise, I would like the thread protector.
