Which buttstock is coolest for Saiga 12 conversion?

I need help decide which way to go with my pg conversion-please feel free to post pics or opinions on what would look/function the best. [I may add a red dot sight to the siderail on the gun]. :dancin

Coolest? How about we go with most functional. I'd go for the Romanian Side Folder.... around $75.00 or so. It folds on the side where the action is, And has a nice cheek weld. Very comfortable to shoot, plus you can fold it to make it easier to store or carry.

I have romy sidefolders on a couple of AKs,and they are cool AND functional as well.I dont' know if I like that look on my Saiga 12 though,with it's long barrel [and to me, the cheek weld isn't all that great].

The ACE galil style folder if you want it to fold onto the right side, or one of the origial AK100 series folding stocks, but they go down the left side.

I have one on my SAR1 and love it. I am eventually going to put one on my Saiga12, after some other projects are done.


If you do get the ACE, you will need a Stock, Folding mech, and trunnion block, they are all seperate pieces. Also, there are 2 trunnion blocks, one that is internal but you have to cut the tang off of the back of the shotgun, and one that is external that just slips in like a normal AK stock. The internal one looks alot better to me, but it makes the stock very close to perminent, unless you completely change the rear trunnion. The External block you can always remove and replace later on.

That looks pretty damn good. Has anybody out there put a Galil style handguard on a Saiga 12 ?

Russian AK74 sidefolder with the rolled edges would probably be my choice,not cheap but cool never is LOL

I have seen a couple of S12's with the Galil handgaurds. I was thinking about it, but I am working with some guys about finally getting a 4 rail system completed for these.

After getting a few opinions[and looking at a few pics on other sites]I think I'm gonna go with a traditional black warsaw pact length buttstock with a recoil pad on it. Thanks for all the input,folks! :cupjoe:

an underfolder with a cut down barrel would be uber elite...was originally my plan for mine...decided after my first skeet session with the factory stock that an underfolder would be shoulder suicide.


considering a .410...might be a feasable option for any other model then the 12

EDIT: been under a rock...no more .410s to be had....there goes that idea
