Holy shit this thing is definetly one of the best shooting mil-surp rifles I have purchased to date. I shot the "b" barrel makred rifle today. I was getting nice groups like 2" or less for the most part with an occasional flyer. I attribute the flyers to myself or to the cheap ass Czech surplus ammo I was shooting. I'm going to by some dies and brass for this baby and see what it can really do.
Shot my Enfield and shooter grade K-31 today as well. This rifles also group but damn these front sights to hell. One was shooting way right(k-31) the other about 4" left(Enfield). This is extremely annoying...at least to me anyway. See my posy about the problem with mil-surps.
Anyway, if you guys are wondering whether or not to invest in one of these Finn M-39. Grab one while the gettin' is good because mine shoots great and word is, that most of them do. I'll get out with the "VKT" another day.

Great, glad to hear it. Czech 7.62 X 54R, was it the silver tipped stuff?
Interested in hearing about the VKT, how it does. So the B barreled M39 that you thought was too floppy to use works good. Hehehe! :D

Hey I never said it was to floppy to use, I just said it was moving around in the handguard. Too floppy to use, you must be thinking of some other problem. :D
I bought this ammo at AIM a couple months ago. They had it advertised as Czech ammo. I bought a case of two tins, 440rds/tin. The bullet is copper FMJ and the case is steel but it is grey in color. I think I'm going to get some of the Albanian stuff they are advertising now. Says it is brass cased. Any good???

Ahah, that ammo's not Czech its Hungarian! The cases are metallic gray paint right and there is a red lacquer sealant at the neck and at the primer pocket too right? That's good feeding ammo in the rifles. Speed is about 2,800 fps if memory serves me. I 've chronographed Hungarian about 2 years ago along with about another 5 or 6 countries 54R ammo.

10-4 on the red stuff. It was everywhere after about 40 rounds.
I assume it is corrosive.
