Dear Fellow Members-Has anyone heard about or seen the laminated M-44's that AIM is advertising?Overall condition is supposed to be VG with "some stock and finish wear".Although I own seven M/N's,ranging from M1891's to M-44's,I don't have a laminated one.Does anyone know if these come with a cleaning rod, sling or any other accessories?Any info GREATLY appreciated!I have been posting here for the last two years, although I had to change my login name when this site was in limbo awhile back.I really like this C&R forum and think it's a welcome addition to AK-47.net.Thanx again for any info!:)-Gearhead

I got the flyer from AIM today that has these listed but I have'nt seen one yet. The picture in the flyer(which ain't very good) shows a rifle with no cleaning rod. Good news is Tapco has M44 rods for like 10 bucks I think.

Dear Fellow Members-Ordered one today from Chris. He said that there will not be any handpick fee, since they expect them all to be about the same grade. Not a bad deal for $60.00 plus $12.00 UPS!Ordered an M-44 rod from TAPCO for about $14.00,along with a couple of M/N cleaning kit bags.Already have a spare sling, courtesy of Rick Reich. Will let you know when I get mine!Take care all-Gearhead.

How are the laminated stocks finished? If it is not oil then how would you refinish it?

They have a light coat of laquer on them so scratches show more . I used a gloss min wax polycoats finish on one that was beat to hell and it turned out quite nice.

I called Friday morning to order one and some other items and they told me they will not have any until next week or later. Gearhead do they have them now?

Dear Shooter-I called on 11/15 and AIM is still waiting for the M-44's.But they told me that a large lot will be coming in.Still,as fast as the last one's went,I figured I play it safe-and I already have a post WWII Izhevsk and 1952 Radom.BTW,the Russian M-44's they are advertising are supposed to be as nice as the one I bought from them. This gun looks brand new, although it may have been an arsenal refinished unissued.Like the primo M91/30's that AA was selliing, these kind of deals are too good to pass up.Who knows what will happen in another year?My .02 worth:)-Gearhead.

I saw a couple of these on various tables at the show today. Very nice indeed. I'll probably get a couple when AIM gets them in.
