Got a half ton of 7.62X25 ordered but nothing in that caliber...
So where can I pick up a nice and shiny PPSH semi-auto built on a mint Russian kit, I would like to pay about $99.00 shipped.

your not going to pick any PPSH semi for less than $1000.00 I-O has some semi's
years ago but they were crappy as they had feed problems.. these still pop up on auctions some time ,,and every one i've ever seen sold for excess of a thousand..

just do what I am doing:
build you own semi ppsh. I bought a kit from nartron that was in excelent condition and a semi receiver from prexis sten and re-weld the thing together mod the bolt and find a suitable trigger group.
I have heard of folks using sks, ar, and ak trigger parts for the conversion to hammer struck/closed bolt firing. all I need is my semi receiver half and I can begin the semi modifications ont the bolt and fire control group.
here's one... (second one down, the one on top is a 22lr semiauto)... it's only $950 (but it's a post sample so a demo letter is required)

There is, become and SOT. But to make it worth it you need to do a bunch of NFA stuff. And if you help your friends get SRB and SBS paperwork done it helps build customers!

Vic how come you can keep your guns out on racks and hanging from ceilings...
I was told I had to have them in a huge vault when trying to get my SOT....

I've fired the one in Vic's pic, the Sig too, and I must say that the PPsH is the coolest gun I have ever fired. That thing empties a 71rd drum extremely fast and stays on target the whole time.

don't know... we have security system with off site video monitoring... maybe that's good enough for them?

Vault? Your ATF guy is an idiot (insert shocked look of suprise here). The regs say secure storage. Nothing about a vault, nothing even about a safe. I used to have my SOT out of my house until we got the store. No off site monitoring or alarm system either.
Local laws and zoning may be a bit of a problem though as they varry incredibly. If that is good to go, it is a matter of some paperwork, a chat with an ATF compliance guy, and a nice chunk of change every year. The hard part is paperwork once you get the license, but Dan Shea's "MG Dealers Bible" makes that a l;ot more simple and answers a LOT of questions.

Pay $500 a year for the license, after you get your FFL. If manufacturing (which is for all SOTs, I believe) must be a type 7 FFL and in an area where manufacturing is ok by zoning, etc...

I think the cheapest solution would be a CZ-52

Just out of curiousity, what does the SOT run a year? What's involved in the application process?
*edit* Nevermind, I see that question was already answered.
$500 per year on top of the FFL

There are a few things that I have wondered about for a while. If my understanding of the laws are correct a dealer or manufacturer can posess post-86 machine guns, as long as they are a dealer/manufacturer, along with law enforcement etc. but can never be transfered too an idividual. What I really want to know is if there is any money in actually being an individual dealer or manufacturer of post-86 mg's?
I can understand dealing in pre-86 tranferable mg's because they seem to be in high demand ........ but for post-86 mg's, is there much of a market for them?

I have a 1944 PPSh-41 here in Iraq... Polyany I believe. I'm yet to shoot it. 7.62x25 is a little harder to come by here than most calibers, I have only one drum.
too bad I can't post pics of it fr another 11 months.
(sorry broken Keyboard)
