Why does Centerfire Systems get all these Kits in and you can not get a reciever for them, my example, PPSH Kits, Lovw to have one but where the hell do you get a reciever at to build the damn thing? or like that damn suomi kit that they try to pawn off on you? Whats the deal with these things?

There's also a place (I think it's Bachman Pawn & Gun) that runs a full page ad in every Shotgun News. They are a Class 3 dealer and list several supressed weapons and short barrel shotguns on the left side of the ad. On the right side of the ad they also list blank receiver tubes with bonded templates for several models including the Sten, CZ-56 and the Sterling.

Keep in mind, their business is to sell,, not having a receiver is not their problem..
True there are 80% receivers and blank ones for sale at other companies
they sell them to give you a starting point for a build..
And remember your build must be a legal one,, there ARE cases of ATF prosecution for people building a non ATF approved design..

Some builds are impossible with out having a fully equipped machine shop
and alot of money, and engineering skills

For the amature builder , alot of these kits do offer a chance to make you
some really nice dummy/display guns..

Your own machine guns, that's a different story.

I think he meant build your own LEGAL semiauto receivers (or of course machinegun receivers if you are an SOT)

those suomi kits are really nice. The one my friend picked up with his other kit was unfired before disassembly. Another friend is sitting on 100 suomi drums that he picked up in a group buy. I think I need at least one of these kits. :)

I am actually thinking about getting one of the Yugo M-56 kits and converting it to 9mm, it should look pretty close to a MP40 then.

With the Soumi:

Remember you can use a 4130 tube the size of the I.D. of the dewat receiver. Of course, you do have to use your head in working out solutions to each problem.

Position the receiver pieces on the tube and tack weld in place. Fill in gaps with filler. Turn bolt down to fit tube, and convert to accept a firing pin. Convert or make your semi-auto FCG parts, and fit to re-made receiver.

Make, have made, or buy a new barrel trunion and install in receiver tube. Lengthen the barrel and barrel jacket to legal carbine length.

You can figure it out from here.

FAL kits are probably the easiest to find receivers for....
