Maybe someone can steer me straight on this. I prefer 45ACP to 40cal or 9mm. What alternatives do I have in this caliber. I know Oly Arms builds one but it uses UZI mags and the highest cap. they made in 45ACP was 16 rounds. They are hard to find and expensive as well. Do I have any options? Is there an adapter available for this caliber? I prefer to stick with the AR15 configuration.
Thanks,
akp

There is an alternative coming, that is in the makes.

I've seen a prototype of it. Uses grease gun mags if I'm not mistaken. It will be expensive and CNC'd from a solid billet, not a forged receiver, but looks to be the best alternative for a .45ACP lower yet. Then you just use a standard upper with a .45ACP barrel and bolt, and you're good to go.

I'll definately be picking one up. A .45ACP suppressor is the first thing I'm going for. Figure using it for my USP and an AR upper would be kind of trick :D

Found a picture :)

As long as they have the same threads. HK is knows for doing shit ass backwards. Weaponlight mounting aside, HK made the Mk23 threads are the same as M4 threads, but the USP's are reversed, supposidly you cant put a Mk23 suppresor on a USP and make it a shingle shot pistol. But sine you dont have a Tac you shouldnt have that problem.

Thanks for the info. Any idea who's the manufacturer? I'm seriously interested.

just a single person with an idea right now, but he's getting his patent, and then is going to outsource it.

And Epi.. I have a standard USP. I'll get a custom threaded barrel, not a Tac barrel.

The threads will be what I choose them to be.
