Looks like a nice one. Sure would've been nice if that hand guard looked like the rest of the stock. I would attempt to find a replacement if I were in your shoes. Kind of like a perfect Blonde with a black eye! ;)

She's a beauty! Bluing looks to be near 100%. Stock looks like natural wood w/o stain almost. Get to shoot her yet?

It actually looks better than that. The picture turned out too dark that's for sure. I'll keep it the way it is. That's the way they made her. Tha'ts the way she'll stay.

Hey Richard, she sure looks great. I've got wood now. I can't wait to shoot it.
PS- Don't fondle her too much. You just might rub all of the blueing
off.:p :D

Freetime, all the wood was cleaned and reoiled with Boiled Linseed Oil and then three coats fo Bowling Alley Wax and no Ii haven't shot her yet. Will be heading to the range with some friends after Thanksgiving.
JES AR15, it looks to be a slivery enamel. I don't want to scratch it to see whats under it.
Mountain Survivor, I'll be bringing this one and my preban Norinco. Maybe the two of them will sway you away from the darkside. I should bring my MAS 36/51, MAS 49/56 and my little Yugo beauty and have a grenade launcher equipped rifle shoot a rama. Don't worry about the fondling. The wife has been eyeing me pretty funny but the Bowling Alley Wax is holding it's own. Wait, is that hair in my palm? :p

Nice pics! What's the dark spot near the cutout in the stock? Is that one of the brass stock bolts? They usually look smaller than that. Not a ding I hope. :(
I still haven't got mine. I suppose today maybe hopefully longingly impatiently.

It's not brass but there is a small bolt there.

How many of you are getting these with a different color upper handguard? It almost reminds me of Teak while the stock looks like elm or something. Just wondering why this is? Would a 59 reworked to a 59/66 require a new handguard? Just curious.
