Just curious if anyone has noticed the new ammunition from Hornady intended for lever action rifles? Hornady refers to it as their
LEVERevolution ammunition (https://www.hornady.com/story.php?s=198). It's going to be offered in .30-30 Win., .35 Rem., .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, or .45-70 Government. It's different because of the bullet used in a tubular magazine. Hornady has added a point or 'Flex Tip' to increase it's overall performance. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this ammunition or plans on using it once it becomes available?

That Flex Tip must be really soft as to not set off primers in tubular magazines.

There is an artical in "Rifle Shooter", in the Jan/Feb edition, on this ammo and a bear hunt. I do plan on trying it in 30-30, and if they ever offer the bullets as handloading componants I'll try the .44 cal bullet in .44 mag both lever and revolver. The .358 200 grn might be intresting in a .357 revolver too, if it's not too long. ;)

I have a marlin 1894C in .357 with 18.5" barrel and trying to locate factory loads that use slower burning powder. I would also like some lighter bullets than those intended for pistol use. I bought this gun last year & have grown fond of it. (yes I know it's a pistol cartridge & yes I own many rifles).. It is accurate & quiet with .38's.. but really fun to shoot with hot .357 loads. I am certain a standing deer at 100 yds has no chance. gary
