Are Saiga rifles California legal???

I had a saiga 7.62X39 rifle listed on gunbroker, and some guy from Lakewood CA used "buy now" on it- I posted in the auction "DO NOT Bid if you live in CA, or anywhere else where this rifle is banned"- the buyer claims that it's CA legal- I dont believe they are, anybody know the answer to this one?

Just tell him that it is your best interest not to sell it to him as you are unsure of the laws.

Yah, but then who pays for the auction? Believe it or not (it was hard for me to believe) it is legal to sell and then be transferred to a buyer an FAL receiver (in CA).- I guess under their state law it's legality all depends on how the weapon is built. Still, I thought that I had heard somewhere that Saigas were on their banned list...Maybe it's just the shotgun. Anybody out there know the answer?
