I was looking at one of my parts kits (Suomi) and was just staring at the bolt when it just occured to me.......I went upstairs and checked out my Winchester 1300 Defender 12G and I was right.
It seems the bolts on a shotgun are similiar to these open bolt guns and I wondered if maybe they might be adaptable to use ? I mean the shottie parts are waaay cheaper than the AR-15 parts everyone is using are. The bolt is already milled to take the FCG. The only problem that I could forsee is that I dunno if its possible to mill the bolt face off and make it able to fit a 9mm shell.
I was thinking:
*Turn down bolt to fit receiver
*Add rails for bolt to slide on in the receiver
*Adapt bolt face to the 9mm shell (gotta work out something with the ejector)
*Rig a way for the shotguns FCG to work.
I have never built one of these before and I am just throwing ideas out there. Anybody think I may be onto something ? Please elaborate............... :hammer
