I recently came up with a couple apparent cheek pieces at a shop (cheap!) -they had no idea what they were intended for (maybe someone knows). They appeared to be for something modular, as they had a internal structure I had to Dremel away some to fit them. Otherwise, they went on well and solved the "weld" problem...
