Have a Hopkins & Allen .32 revolver. Top strap is inscribed XL double action, Hopkins and Allen Arms Co.,Norwich Ct. USA. It has a nice finish--some minor pitting-- solid frame, chambered for 5, loads through a gap in the shield, 2.5 inch octagon barrell. Can,t find any info on this gun. Had it cked out, everything in good shape. Sent 48 rounds of 32 S&W through her last week. Fun to shoot. Any info would appreciated---Thanks

Chaser, my guess is you have a Hopkins & Allen Model XL No.3 (http://www.antiquegunlist.com/images/737_1431lWfZVhZzJdmV.JPG) DA revolver. Hopkins & Allen operated from 1868-1915 in Norwich, CT. The XL model series was numbered based on caliber. Typically metal finish was nickel with a blued finish offered as an option. The No.3 version was chamered in .32 S&W and had a five-shot cylinder. Barrel lengths ranged from 1.75"-6" with grips made of hard rubber, wood or pearl. For reference, the Blue Book Of Gun Values - 26th Edition lists the following values for the Hopkins & Allen XL Model:

100% - $160
98% - $140
95% - $120
90% - $100
80% - $85
70% - $70
60% - $55

Hope this helps!
