Anybody here an inexpensive :) knifemaker? I have two blades I need made. They're small...no longer than 6" total...actually...a little less. No scales, grips, or anything. Just plain steel. I could cut and shape the metal but I have no idea how to harden and temper. Even with instructions, I'd be hesitant to try. I'd hate to buy good steel and monkey it up like a soup sandwich. I can do a line drawing with dimensions if someone can make them. I'll pay ya..or trade something.
Or can someone give me some ideas as to what kind of steel I can use to make my own. This is just a "for the fun of it" project so it's not imperative but it would be fun. Prefer to have someone do it but I'll try with the right (and inexpensive) steel.
