Anybody pick up one of these .22 Romanians for $50 or less lately?

Just got one on sale for $49.99 at Dunhams on my lunch break, right before noon when they went back up to $59.99. Only sale priced milsurp could get me into a store the day after Thanksgiving! There were 5 people in line at the gun counter to get these which were advertised in yesterday's paper.

Nice lighter wood, few minor dings, good finish, good bore, some cosmoline, over all very good condition. Finish, well over 90%

But the reciever was stamped 1982?

I thought these were all 50's and 60's vintage. Any input? Is it really '82, or is it perhaps an arsenal job?

Also, what's with the three rear sight notches of differing sizes screwed together? I've never seen a rear sight like that before.

Nifty rifles. The sights are 25, 50 and 100 meter settings, look over on the right of the leaf, should have the numbers stamped on it. They flip up and down.

Mine is dated 1974.

There's a little buttstock cleaning kit that goes with these rifles, I didn't get one with mine though.

Century sells extra 5 round mags for this rifle for about $8, they're made in Taiwan.

I paid $50 for mine about a year ago. Excellent condition except it was missing a sling swivel and the kit. Came with three mags, all made in Taiwan. I purchased three more mags at the time for $5 each.

I haven't got around to firing it yet.

I got one at a flea market last year. It shoots 1\2 inch groups at 50 yds.and 3 " at 100.
I did float the barrel and put on a 4x scope I had.
I really like it and talk about cheap shooting.
