Even better than that, I hear Wolf is going to be coming out with a 75gr BTHP load that performs similar to Mk262 Mod1. Can't wait for that one.

There were samples at SHOT show. I hear the 75gr stuff is going to be $7 per box of 20. VERY good price if it's true.

So its better than the 55gr? Why?

While we're on the subject, what's the difference between the 55gr and 62gr FMJ's velocity, energy, accuracy wise?

I just got 200 rnds of this stuf from dubya dubya dubya dot sportsmansguide for 50 bucks. I'll just have to see how it shoots and report back. On a downside, $50 seems kida pricy, my local Wally-Mart has 200 rnd packs of Federal .223 for the same price plus tax.

75's should beat the wind drift at long range better than 55's. but I gotta say be carefull with RELIABILITY with FEEDING.ive posted this before but ive seen problems with 55 HP wolf ammo.I dont know about any of there other stuff.but ive seen two ar15's puke with 55hp wolf.if I want 75gr I will hand load them to seat them in relationship to the lands.my barrel is fussy with that(big difference in accuracy). I have had great luck with regular 55fmj wolf ammo as far as feeding goes.just thought I would try to help someone from potentially wasting $100 plus on ammo that will piss them off and leave them frustrated at there gun(when its not the guns fault)..definatly buy the 20 round box first to see how it feeds.. :salute:

and shoots

oh!,in case anybody didnt know don't run nato/5.56 ammo unless youre sure you have a nato/5.56 chamber..just for safety's sake..:)

75gr ammo is at the ragged edge of what a 1/9 will stabilize, so before you plop a bunch of cash down, make sure it'll shoot well in your gun. A 1/7 would be optimal now that the trend seems to be towards heavier projectiles.

Great point,I forgot to mention that.. I run 80gr smk in my 1/8 twist and ive heard 70gr is the most you would want to try in a 1/9 twist.. if I could do it safely I would love to see what would happen if you ran a 80gr in a 1/12 twist :losingit: have any of you experienced this?? 40 M.O.A. at 50 yrds?? :losingit:

Wolf 55 grain FMJ and the 62 grain FMj run well and are quite accurate in my Olympic 2005 shorty. And the 62 grain at 100 yards will punch right through a large truck wheel front a nd center where teh steel is i guess one eightth inch thick. Only thing bad about Wolf is that it is dirty and one must clean his bolt and chamber good after shooting the polymer stuff. Picked up a case of Wolf 62 grain at the Greencastle Pa show last weekend for 130 bucks out the door. Not bad price.

I had shot 300 rnds of 55 wolf in a 10.5 heavy dpms as fast as I could slap the mags in and when I cleaned it, it wasnt bad at all,,I believe I could have kept blasten away for quite awhile if I wanted to. ,,that is when they still used the laquer coating..the funny thing is I never had a problem with them sticking in my chamber and that baybe was some fuc*in HOT! after that blaster session..one reason I believe is ive only used marvel mystery oil in my firearms and ive oiled the ar15 only were it needs it and don't over-oil..I love the stuff and I go from Cold MAINE winters to warm summers and it works great in those conditions..:(My last word is(as much as Ive liked wolf ammo for reliability),,as far as accuracy goes I havn't had the same experience :thumbsdow

The wolf 5.56 feed and fired with out any snags, all 200 rnds of it. The apparent quality of this ammo is about equal to my aforementioned federal value pack stuff. I always go shooting with buddys, and they blew through about 60% of it, so the remainder that I shot seemed to be accurate enough for me. Mabe next time I'll put up some paper and get some group mesurements.
Most of the time, I shoot at the can, if the can goes plink, I go :big:
