I went off line for a couple of months. I am still interested and I can do a little graphic work.

that our efforts would be better directed towards defending our country against the army of illegal aliens now in residence. Maybe hook-up with the Minuteman Project. That's what I'm thinking of doing.

And just to set things straight - this didn't die in a couple of months - it went quite a bit longer and I couldn't manage to get anything decided without things breaking down into arguments about details. Further, the guys that initially indicated that they would take a leadership role got side-tracked with other things - like going into the National Guard and such. No dis on them you understand - I completely understand.

Finally just got tired of it and hung it up.

Guess I wasn't dedicated enough. The job, the family, etc. kept pulling me away too. I travel for my job and we have three teenagers - one going to college this fall.

That's the hard thing about this - until it becomes up close and personal, its hard to get people to act. Easy to get people to talk, but really hard to get them to act. :thud:

I am a bit new to the guns net forum but I have thought for a long time now that something like this needs to be done.

I have even considered trying to organize marches here in my home town of Flagstaff AZ. But I realize that my idea may be too extremist. My idea of a march for guns rights is to march with weapons, but obviously not use them. Then again I am of the school of thought that says the most dangerous thing in the world is an UN-loaded gun. And a bunch of people with guns and ammo are too likely to start shooting. And cops are too likely to massacre a bunch of people with unloaded guns and kick off a civil war. Because if cops opened fire on a peaceful march with weapons displayed but not used I would have to start taking out government officials. So my idea is drastic enough that I fear doing it.

But then what all this was about looks like a real useful organization that could actually get something done.

The whole illegal immigration thing going down right now is just stupid. I think its sad that some guy who breaks our laws by being here has more rights than I do. Simply because he has no papers. But I think the people who are so upset about it are idiots who don’t know what they are supporting. Not very many people really understand what the immigration thing does, I live in Rural Arizona. I see what those illegal SOBs do and it disgusts me. But I also belie we are built on immigration; we just need to be sure the people here abide by the law.

But then you have a point, the Minutemen could be a good platform to push a decent immigration bill, then to work on gun rights. Perhaps I should look into them more myself.

Here's something I don't understand--Everyone worries about the 1st, or 2nd, or 4th, but most people don't have a damn clue what the 16th is or how it affects the others.

If you repeal the 16th(income tax-ratified in 1913), you eliminate any funding for the fed to enforce unconstitutional laws, spy on it's citizens, or be the largest employer in the United States. Think about it! Does the fed really deserve nearly 25% of your annual income? Should they be allowed to steal your hard work only to use it against you?

Without the 16th amendment, the ATF wouldn't exist.
Without the 16th, welfare-social security-WIC-billions of dollars in aid to foreign gov'ts-etc.---would not exist!

It is your money, so why do you let them steal it?
