Been looking at this website:
http://www.prvipartizan.com/products/millitary/small_arms/79x57_ammo.htm

and I see that the 7.92mm, Silencer load uses some type of "single base flake powder" as does many of their load choices.

I'd love to see a nice subsonic 8mm mauser loading, so I did some math based on the figures on their site.
Powder weight= cartridge wt – case wt – projectile wt
Ctg weight: 27.5g
Case wt: 11g
Projectile wt: 15.6g
so
27.5-(11+15.6)= 0.9grams powder= 13.89 grAINS of some type of ‘single base flake powder’

Does anyone know what type of powder that is?

Although unspecified, this cartridge drops a 240gr projectile at what i presume must be a relatively low velocity (subsonic not specifically confirmed)

Now they DO have another subsonic load: 7.92x57mm, Practice Indoor,M80 ( a lightweight lead projectile at subsonic velocity )

as well as the 7.92x57mm, Practice, M76 (a lightweight, aluminum projectile at subsonic velocity).

I would like to see both of these as well.
But since no one is importing them at this time, anyoen wanting a subsonic 8mm mauser round is rolling his/her own.

So, anyone know which powder they use? or is it proprietary or otherwise unavailable to the public?

thanks,
C-

I know for a fact in their M193 line for the AR, they decided to use a "stick" powder rather than ball.

Wierd choice to say the least... I can't confirm that for everything else they use though....
