Does anyone know what kind of foregrips are issued to millitary or police personel for AR-15/M-16 rifles. Just want a quality product for mine.

KAC stands for Knights Armament Company.
RAS is the model name.
The military uses both the RAS and the RIS. The RAS has an extra clamp on the inside of the handguards that affix it tightly to the barrel. These only work with goverment profile barrels. The RIS doesn't have this clamp and will work with HBAR's.
Both of these are extremely expensive for what they are. I own a RAS and only own it because I got an incredibly good deal on it used.
These will run around 300$ New in Box.
You can buy the RAS here.

I'd reccomend looking at the 2 peice MI#17 handguards. They're relatively the same for a much more attractive price.
Also instead of the KAC Vert grip, I'd reccomend a Tango Down Vert Grip. It fills the hand far better and is much more comfortable. It also provides space for battery/and/or small part storage.

OLD thread. ;)
Actually, today's military uses many many brands of many many accessories. I personally use a Tango Down foreward grip. It is in use by the military and I personally think it's the best around...

yea it is old but good, I was looking for info on forward grip/rail setups.
I have a stag arms upper with carbine hand guards and am thinking of dressing it up and maybe trying a gripod or whatever they call them.

Rumors on the net: Ace Ltd (riflestocks.com) is working on a new generation of their K-profile grip, not yet shown on their website but being released. A few guys ordered the aluminum old style grip that is pictured on Ace's site, but they recei8ved the new version. I like the look of the new version and I placed my order for one for my carbine; grip should arrive in a few days. It's a stubby style foregrip. If it satisfactorily clears my AK mags, I'm gonna get one for that too. Here's a pic that somebody posted elsewhere.

I read some things on that TD stubby grip. Looks OK; it doesn't have the switch pad slots or removable bottom cap for storage space like it's bigger brother. And still selling for around $60. Not for me.
And just as I was typing this, the mailman delivered my Ace Ltd grip.
Feels nice! Looks just like the one pictured, the new generation in aluminum.
Length is 3-1/2" from the bottom of the rail to the base of the grip; grip diameter is 1-5/16". $39.45 delivered.

Although I ordered this foregrip for my AR, here's a pic of it on my SAR-1. I was checking mag clearance, it's OK, so I'll be ordering another one of these grips for it. I like the feel of this grip over the GG&G clone that I have on my AR. New grip has a confident grip feel as it sits within the palm of your hand.
