I can't seem to find FSE on the internet anymore. is there a company that sells a FCG that will work with the Saiga 223. Red Star Arms FCG apparently does not work in Saigas.

Any FCG will work in the Saiga's as long as you do the pistol grip conversion.

Chris, down at AK-USA is THE MAN for Saiga conversions. Having done several transactions with him, he really knows his stuff, and as busy a ghuy as he is, he will usually personally reply to a question within 24 hours.

Which spring? The retaining spring? If so then yes, you need to get a new one. Why not get a retaining plate instead? So much easier!

I picked up a .308 in a trade and went to work converting it.
Save the Saiga trigger group, you can sell it and the plastic stocks.
I installed the RSA adjustable fcg. Got a VersiPod for the front end.
Milled my own handguard from a block of curly maple.
Welded on a Tabuk flash hider (nodak spud).
It was kind of a cheap date.
Shoots awesome groups with good surplus.
I was killing a plate at 200 yds with 1988 Aussy surp.
The surefire 25 rd mag works flawlessly.

Ive read that the .308 G2 triggers have to be modded to work. Im trying to find out how to do it, but nobodys replyed yet, here or on saiga12.com. I know you can buy a couple different types of drop in .308 triggers but Im short on cash and most are pricey and out of stock. I also already have the G2 so Im waiting for some help.

The standard AK G2 FCG, (7.62 x 39) will work for the .308
All the internal specs of the receiver are the same, or
close enough for simple trigger contact, reset,, etc.
I used the Red Star Arms FCG, more expensive, but has a nicer
break. I don't recall having to make any mods.
The beauty of the AK, is the complicity of design.

I read that if you want to use the BHO you have to trim the hammer and something about grinding somewhere so the bolt rides over the FCG easier, also something about grinding the hammer face so it strikes the bolt square. I have looked here and at the saiga forums for the post but cant find it. I know some mods need to be done as Ive found two different drop in sets for the .308 for sale but their pricey and on back order. I guess Ill try installing the stock G2 and see if it needs mods if nobody answeres my 8 different posts asking for the info.

Back to the shed you! I have a Saiga waiting to take FAL mags (it'll also be a great excuse to buy a FAL "But honey...I already have the magazines for it!")

Can't wait to slap that bad boy in on mine. I might make a ghetto SAL instead of ponying up the 2k for DSA if I like it on my saiganov.

Is a Saiga rifle legal with magazines over 10 rounds in stock (unmodified) condition?

I think this depends on the State in which you reside.
NJ, CA have issues for sure. Just make sure your State is
OK with large mag capacity.

No, you will be out of compliance with imported parts count 922r, and that includes any state. A U.S.A. made larger capacity magazine will count toward 3 parts (floor plate, follower, magazine body). You will need to change out one additional part to use a non-standard "sporting" magazine, perhaps a butt stock or easiest is the forearm.
Ref: thegunwiki(dot)com/Gunwiki/BuildSaigaVerifyCompliance Tapco Saiga Intrafuse forearm will with all the Saigas except the .410 shotgun. Has 3 rails for adding useful stuff like lights, lasers, grips, etc.
