all the ar-15 owners i have met were bored with their rifles. one even said this thing justs shoots to good, where ever i point it,it hits. do not know,
so do not slam me ,like that other site i have read of on this page. are not
the ar15/m16 basically the same rifle? one being an assult rifle (m16) the other being a civilan counterpart. i find that all the people at "ak 47" have
a permit to have an assult rifle hard to believe.so my question is are they
misrepresenting thier club, or do you have to have a class lll permit to play. :salute: :dunno:

The vast majorit of the Ak-47s owned here are semi-auto only. Very much like the difference between the m16 and ar15. Its all in the fire control group. So unfortunately, we're not all collecting stamps (of the NFA variety).

The fire control group is the pieces on the inside that deal with the trigger, hammer, and sear. If you have an AR-15, open it up, and look into the lower reciever. You'll see the hammer and other stuff inside of it. Those pieces are the fire control group. That is really the difference between the m16 and ar15. Earlier versions of the ar-15 would accept a small drop in piece (auto sear) that would give the firearm full auto capabilities. The Ak-47 has an analogous group of parts on the inside.
