I own a .223 being converted ATM,and a stock .308 22" that will be converted later this year.
I'm looking to get one of those new AK-100 in 30-06,that should be real neat, too bad you can't get one of those with a nice walnut stock.

Hate to admit it but I've only got one 762/39, hasn't been outa the box since it followed me home. I hope the dang speculators choke on their 308's, ain't know way I'm payin' over friggin' retail for one. Passed on a new-in-the-box locally at 345 about 3 months ago but I don't mind waitin'.

Two SAIGA's
1. SAIGA-12 converted to p-grip by fellow member Integratedj
2. 7.62x39SAIGA already converted to p-grip and to accept hi-cap mags. My RPK wanna-be. Z_Recto refinished RPK stock an all to make her look a lil more purty.
I keep looking at the Tromix conversion Saiga's.
Keep looking brother, Tromix is the only way to go when it comes to SAIGA conversions. No need to waste your time or money elsewhere.

I've got a long and short barrel 7.62x39 and a short bbl(of course) .223
I have been trying not to buy a .308 but when the right deal comes along I probably will.
Who has one and how is it?
I have been watching a 21" wood stocked 308 in my area, it has a tag of $400.
I am not stuck on the idea of the wood stock but I know that I don't want the 16" .308.
Anything to watch out for?
Has anybody added a bolt hold open to a Saiga that didn't come with one?
Has anybody bought one of the newer imports?
I would also consider a 20" .223 if it were available.
Thanks to the powers that be for this forum.

I have the 22" barrel .308,shoots great I was able to get a 2" group @100 yards with it.I had the 16" but traded it to my uncle.
I've been pondering a 7.62x39 convert it into a AK-103 with all the lugs etc.

What kind of price does it cost for a converson from T romix? I'm still thinking of doing it myself.

Here is the info copied directly from Tromix website (http://www.tromix.com/Welcome.htm)
SAIGA Shotgun Conversions: "Tromix Saiga shotgun conversions transform your standard hunting gun, into a more dynamic tactical tool. The conversion consists of removing the original buttstock, installing a pistolgrip, new trigger guard, and U.S. made fire control componets.
The rear trigger axis holes are Tig welded closed and ground smooth to give you a factory look. The rear of the receiver is then remachined to the correct angle, and a back plate is Tig welded in place to allow attachment of the ACE folding stock.
Finally, the barrel is cut to 18.25" the gas ports opened up to allow proper functioning, all refinished in flat black Norrell Moly Resin.
The basic 18" Conversion as described above runs $350 on the customers gun."
And here are some extras that Tony offers:
"HK G3 rifle sights $125
Tromix Flash Hider $50
Forward picatinny rail $85
Manual bolt hold open device $65
Galil style upswept charging handle $100
Extended safety selector $40
Bayonet lug $35
Poly Choke installed $150"
There is everything direct from his website. I personally would recommend Tromixs' work on any SAIGA, you will NOT be disappointed.
His work is superb and is done in a timely manner (and he stays in constant communication with his customers, even has a fast turnaround time).
Just my .02 GO WITH TROMIX, dont waste your time or money on anyone else! :rockin: :ywoot

I have three .223s, two have been converted to PG.
One 22" 308 that's been converted to Saigunov config.
I had the unconverted .223 out yesterday afternoon. It has the absolute best trigger pull of any factory-stock Saiga that I've ever handled, so that's why it's not been converted yet. And I have about 12 ten-rd Saiga .223 mags, too. Using RG ammo I was chasing empty yellow quart oil bottles around the 200 yd berm.
My youngest perfers one of the converted .223s, and has "claimed" it. Her favorite pastime at the range is to lock in a full Wieger and steadily bang away at the 400 yard gong with the open sights. She usually hits 9/10. It'll be an 18th birthday gift to her in a couple years.
