Ive read most 1/9 will stablize up to 70gr.I guess it depends on how long the bullets are.I believe(also from what ive read and not 100% possitive)that a long bullet like whats in the ss109 wont stablize in 1/9 twist..im not 100% sure on that. :dunno:

The 62gr bullet that Lake City loads (M855?) performs very well in my Bushy. Haven't used any heavier.
I mostly use 55gr Win or 55gr Sierra Gameking (FMJBT).
I was looking pretty hard at those Sierra 80 & 90gr Matchkings (for 7"-8" twist bbls) but haven't tried any yet.

Sierra!! gotta love em!Ive used there 80gr matchking in my 1/8 and they were very accurate the first time I used them even without different load testing(my furthest spread was .375 out of 5 shots):)..I was very happy to know my barrel is capable of good shooting.I dont know what you are shooting for(with me it is mostly benchrest accuracy) but for 100 yrds I have read everywere that 52gr matchkings will make a very nice match for your 1/9.they say with a little testing you can get some amazing accuracy out of them..however if you want more knock down or your shooting out there further I would think the 69 gr matchking(they say there not reccomended for hunting though)would be the ticket in your 1/9 twist..I think it depends on what you want.I wouldnt try 80-90 gr in your 1/9 I think you will regret it..I dont know from personal or profesional experience Its just what I read everywere in magazines and online.1/9 wont stabalize a bullet that long.Mostly there only advantage is long range wind resistence anyways(600+yrds)...one other thing is they say the smaller(52gr)bullets are more accurate than larger 80 gr bullets in the 100 yrd range..and if you want to shoot long I bet the 69 gr will buck the wind pretty good,,I dont know how far but I bet they will go 300+ easy.. :salute:
