Is anyone else's Marlin 17HMR partial to certain ammo? Mine doesn't like hollow points at all;ejection problems. I've also heard that hollow points in this caliber start breaking up before they hit their target; is this true?

Well heck, if guns have problems with any type of ammo, it's usually the hollow points.

It's usually feed problems though, I don't really see how it could affect the ejection :letssee:

I never had ejection problems with my Marlin, but the Marlin does have feeding problems.
The cause is the sloppiness of the mag in the mag well.
To reliably feed, the mag has to pushed up into the mag well with one hand while charging. I have read this is not isolated to a few rifles, but to all.

I've used both the ballistic tips and hollow points with the .17HMR on prairie dogs and I can't tell the difference. They both kill them effectively.

The ballistic tips are "sexier" looking than the HPs :) Never a feeding problem with anything I fed mine and I think I shot all available.

I havent had any problems with mine, and that's bullshit about the hollow point breaking up.
