To my Knowledge all 1851 Colt Bbls were Octagon (I could be wrong on this) however I know the Confederate copies and some Italian Repros were round. It sounds as though you could be looking for a .36 or .44 cal.

A Good place to start would be Dixie Gun Works -- I find it easier to use their catalog ($5.00) then the website for things like that...But I'm willing to bet they have what you are looking for.

For some reason it won't let submit the post with the website url -- just google:
Dixie Gun Works.

Good Luck

I believe TJB63 is correct. The Colt Model 1851 (http://www.antiquearmsinc.com/images/colt-1851-navy/colt-1851-navy-5.jpg), and all it's variants, came with octagon barrels. Even the replacement barrels offered by Dixie Gun Works (http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?products_id=1052) is octagon. I'm not aware of anyone who has made a round barrel for the Colt Model 1851.
