Leupold - Quick Install Bases Leupold QI Bases. The sight is confusing. The mounts appear to be regular drill mounts. They say "no smithing". The only thing I have found is they do have good zero retention (levers similiar to german mauser mounts Ive seen).

Are these stricktly "glue on"<<<uggh!>>> or can they be mounted "correctly". These will be sitting atop a very nice m48a. I want my iron sites to remain usable also.

Any info would be nice. Still waiting for them to email me.

Thanks for your site and your time!

felonius hey glad to have you.i have been a member since 1/06. although are looking for a specific answer the best place to put a question like this is the general
firearms forum. more people will see it and be inclined to answer. you have two
different sites, gunsnet, ak-47.net different personalities both helpful. ask your questions on the specific and general forums.

You asked the question in the right place. Now I have a question. Is the Leupold mount you have for an M48? You very well may have to drill and tap to fit it to the rifle. :welcome: to TGN. ;)

Rew, as of this moment, I have no mounts or the like. I am just trying to find something. The sight (Leupold) offered some QD mounts for mausers (commercial and FN). I just hoped maybe they would work. PA dist. (the zrak folks) just emailed me and said they would have some zraks in roughly 5 weeks and the present cost was 135 usd. That is a little hard to swallow not being sure just how accurate this thing may be with a scope. I realize if they are of good quality, you just have to do it though. I was hoping for about half that ( I will still have to get to the smith and get a scope bumping me to about 400 +/- without the smith fees). So many choices at the candy store :)
