Dear Sir-Go to www.russian-mosin-nagant.com
Then click on cleaning and takedown and then click on the bolt.BTW,buy a bolt tool from TAPCO if you don't have one already.Firing pin protrusion is critical.Too short and you get misfires, too long you get pierced primers. The bolt is complex at first, but once you do it a few times it's pretty simply. My .02 woth:)-Gearhead.

Those bolts are not that hard once you see how it is done.Remmember those Mosin Nagants were made to be used by uneducated simpel pesants.I could show you how to do it in a flash but could never tell you hear.I would like to recommend, if you are cosidering collecting Mosin Nagants you buy the book {THE MOSIN NAGANT RIFLE} by Terence W. Lapin. If you just want to know how to take the bolt apart you dont need it,but it has a wealth of information, history types variations meaning of markings and so on.You will be much prouder of your Mosin Nagant as you read the book.I often take one of mine out and just look at it thinking of all the places its been what it has done and who used it befor me.The Mosin Nagant , the only military small arm that has been in continus use for over 100 years.

I got that book too, I flip through it before I go to bed alot. I'm always finding something new and interesting. I have a few 91/30's from 1942 and I always think of the Nazi invasion of the motherland and the rush to produce weapons on the Soviet's part. You can tell they were in a hurry with these, they didn't put in the sling washers and the date and arsenal stamp is way canted, about 45 degrees.

I also have to agree with the simplicity, the Mosins are even easier to work on and disasemble than the AK's and SKS. The front sights are a little hard to knock out if needed but thats about it.

That's why I buy commie weapons: they are easy to work on, have a great history, are cheap and loads of fun to shoot. I have way more commie weapons than I do Western ones.

I bought the Mosin-Nagant manual and took my bolt apart. Easy!

Putting it back together.... 30 minutes.....raw fingers....pure hell!

I haven't fired my M-44 yet, but I assure you I'll only be putting non-corrosive ammo through it. I never, NEVER, want to have to put that damn thing back together again!

My .01 cent. :)

Somewhere on AK47.net I wrote an extensive set of how to disassemble Mosin Nagant bolts. Try searching under my name and Mosin for the topic.
