Looking for any help for a friend. He bought an old, double hammer (firing pin) shotgun but we cannot identify the manufacture. It has "NC Greenough" engraved on the both sides of the barrels, its 30" full-full barreled, fairly nice walnut stock, engraving on the side plates, "RB" on each barrel, proof marks are two dots in a diamond and what looks like crossed spears of long torches with two dots and the number "14". It is serial number 5508.

Anyone having any info on this shotgun, please PM me. Or, anyone knowing where I might find info on-line please let me know.

It does not look like a very high quality firearm, we just want to know its history.

Thanks.

pastprime, it would probably help if you could post some pictures of the shotgun in question. Including close-ups of those areas with any kind of nomenclature or marking.

I will try to do that this weekend. My camera is not the greatest but maybe someone will recognize the shotgun.

Thanks
