hand guard removal help

I just bought a used DPMS LR-308 which unfortunately arrived with no manual. Can anyone tell me how to remove and re-install the aluminum free float hand guard? If not, can anyone provide me with direction to an online resource for this information? DPMS manuals are not available online.

I'm not really sure it mount's the same as my AR. Mine screws on with a normal right hand thread. ;)

First, contact DPMS for a manual. Second, if you cant tell exactly how its mounted and dont want to wait for manual, post this in the General AR forum so it will get more attention as there are some .308 guys in there and should be able to help you in no time.

The .308 float tube is the same (albeit larger) as their .223 float tubes. It does indeed screw in.
