CHATSWORTH, Ill., May 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):

The ISRA is pleased to announce that the association has been chosen by the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) to host a series of competitive events at the ISRA's Kankakee Rifle Range.

League matches are scheduled for 11 June, 16 July and 20 August. The Glock League is open to all Glock owners who hold GSSF memberships. GSSF membership is not necessary to participate in the 11 June match, but membership applications will be available at that time for participants.

Those who participate in 2 of the 3 matches will be eligible to win a variety of prizes including a new Glock pistol to be awarded after the 20 August match.

Registration fees are $20 per match. Registration begins at 8:30 AM on match days. For further information on the event or for directions to the ISRA Kankakee Rifle Range, call (815) 635-3198 or visit the ISRA web site at http://www.isra.org.

"We're very pleased that Glock has chosen the ISRA to host this series of competitive events," said ISRA Executive Director Richard Pearson. "This is the first time that Glock has chosen any state rifle association to participate in the GSSF competitions. GSSF's selection of the ISRA is a testament to our outstanding Range Safety Officer program and our long history of hosting competitive rifle and pistol events. I am confident that our relationship with Glock will prove to be long and very prosperous for Illinois' competitive shooting programs."

Since 1903, the Illinois State Rifle Association has been the state's leading advocate of safe, lawful and responsible firearms ownership.
