About 10 years ago, I purchased this rifle new from a gunstore in Idaho, at the time it was on display in a gunrack, and I didn't think to get the paperwork and box. On it's barrel on one side is stamped: Armsport-Inc-Miami-Fla. Made in Italy On the other side is: Cal.45/70 US.Gov. and under the forestock is the s/n: 38419 IAB Can anyone tell me where I can get more information concerning this rifle (manufacturer, etc.) and where I can find parts? Thank you

OldHenry, I believe you have a Sharps 1874 clone imported by Armsport, Inc. located in Miami, Florida until 2000. These rifles were actually manufactured by I.A.B. srl (http://www.iabarms.com/index.htm) located in Gardone, Italy. These rifles were offered in three versions from Armsport:
No. 5178 - Sharps Rifle with 28-inch round barrel
No. 5179 - Sharps Carbine with 22-inch round barrel
No. 5180S - Sharps with 28-inch octagonal barrel and double-set triggers
The current importer of the rifles is the E.M.F. Company. Inc. (http://www.emf-company.com) located in Santa Ana, Califorinia. You may want to contact them directly for a possible source of replacement parts. Hope this helps!

Thank you Steve. Oddly enough, my rifle has a 28" octagional barrel, but came with a single trigger, Creedmore sights with front globe tunnel. I would like to install a double set trigger assembly and possibly put a pewter cap on the forestock if I can find such. Any ideas? Thanks again
