Absolutely perfect unissued, can't believe InterOrdnance had something this nice to sell.
Edited to say I really am talking about a Yugo SKS. It is flat out new, very accurate and looks great with my Yugo AK. My friend at a shop set it aside for me out of several that came in. The others were in great shape, but slightly used.

Shooter:
Are you talking the Big 5 sporting goods brick & mortar stores?
Think there's one in Oregon here. I see no guns on the web site.
(This board is acting screwey. Can't delete my own posts.) hmm
Sorry for the double post.

BIGCA, Yes it is that BIG 5 stores. I walked in one day and they had them on sale for $149.99. They where Century imports. Big 5 is always having sales on something. I get there flyer in the newspaper.

I've never seen Big-5's web site but I know they have a pretty good selction of rifles and shotguns and some C&R rifles in their stores! If you check their sales flyers you can find some kick ass sales. I've seen some M39's and M44's in their stores but there usually just in good fireable condition but occasionally they get like new C&R riffles...........I got a steal on my Mossberg 12 ga. that I bought last year with an extra security barell for like 45% bellow retail! The customer service in their stores in my area is great and I'll always give them my bizz!:D

Warshield, here are my comments of mine from an earlier thread I started.
BBT just left. This thing is BEAUTIFUL. Very sticky with cosmo. Hoeny blonde stock with an upper handguard that is maybe two shades darker. The metal is 100% of the blackest finish I have ever seen on a firearm. All matching without a single blemish of any kind. This is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! Check this out, the invoice lists the rifle at $180.25, ammo pouch, $9.95 (nearly new with some cosmo staining), looks like it will hold three or four strippers in each of the two pockets, cleaning kit $9.95, (not so nice little pouch with a pull through, sling $9.95 (pretty shitty at best, maybe a good), bayonet $24.95 (it's attached to the rifle), Grenade launcher $24.95 (it's attached also), Grenade sight, (it's attached too) plus shipping of $12.00 for a total of $311.95. In all you come up with a $300 rifle though I'm not sure why they did it that way. This is well worth the money. If you guys getting LN Yugos get one like this you will all be sporting wood. I'm gonna go stroke it, I mean clean it. Really is greasy. BEAUTIFUL
Here is a link to some pics of her after I cleaned her up.

RS, sorry about posting about Mausers. I did not read your poll right. With luck my SKS will be here by Christmas.
BIGCA, I tried that with Big 5 and they will not take my C&R. I had to do the paperwork and Nics check.

My SKS came the other day and was has Richard described. Veeeery nice! It'll take a while to clean up, but so far I'm glad I got it. Just hope it's a shooter.

I'm taking mine to the range Saturday. I may take my Norinco along and do a side x side as far as accuracy, reliability, handling, etc. I just got a new batch of Tiger 7.62x39 HP so I'm interested in seeing how they do with Hollow Point ammo.

I cleaned mine up today and now have mixed emotions. The metal is nice. Very black and flawless, except for the shitty job that IO did stampng their name on it. They double-stamped, one over the other. Really screwed up looking, but you have to look for it to see it.
The stock is another story. It's just the typical crappy SKS stock that you always see. The serial number on the stock also looks like it was double-stamped. I cleaned with alcohol and mineral spirits to get the cosmo off. Then sanded with 80 and 150 grit sandpaper. It's smooth, but still ugly. I'm going to coat it with tung oil and hope the finish improves the look.
The thing that pissed me off the most was that when wiping off the alcohol I noticed that the paint had come off the numbers on the grenade launcher site. This was really disappointing cause it had really stood out and looked sharp as hell. Any ideas on how to reapply it?
