I was talking with a sales person @ a sporting goods store this last week and was shocked when I brought up makarovs and he started going off on a tangent about what crappy guns they where(he's obviously an idiot), he then proceeded to say that M44's are crap and most C&R riffles are just a waste of time and money! The guy told me he's a match shooter(woohoo) and he has tons of old riffles but regardless of condition most of them get junked for "projects" and the only older rifle worth buying is an M-1 carbine! C'in as I just bought a un-fired condition Russian M44 and have an excellent condition Bulgarian Makarov on the way from SOG you could c how this guy was pissing me off....lol.
I got the chance to fire my firends excellent condition bulgie makarov that he got from sog's last batch this weekend at the 25yrd indoor range and it was a pretty impressive gun! I fired 100 rds. of Fiocchi FMJ and 100 rds. of Wolf FMJ through his Mak without one burb or hiccup and he even said it was way overdue for a cleaning. I Have a Glock 19 and a Beretta 92 fs and was very impressed with the groups I was shooting even with the Wolf!
So if ya talk to a dealer that has alot of bad things to say about a Makarov or goes as far as to say that there "crappy" guns then take your bizz elsewhere!!!
