Guys as you can see from my post i don't really say much until i have something to say, well now is that time. I went to pick up a CZ 527 carbine in 7.62x39 and they denied my background check. I am an ex-soldier, current teacher and am destroyed. I know it has to be a mistake, but my rights aren't to be trifled by a phone call. They should have let the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) keep handling this. I own about 15 legally purchased and backgrounded guns so its a mistake either way. I hope this hasn't got anything to do with that vetran information being stolen.
Anyway I'm appealing and I feel i shouldn't have to appeal something when I am no felon, abuser, addict, or crook.
Paranoia man (My father/ USMC CAP,Viet Nam 66-68) says: they disarmed the teachers first in Nam.

Well I went and was re-fingerprinted (I'm a teacher and just changed districts so I've done this this year and it was fine then...) and have been in the process since the beginning of May. Nothing has happened ...

Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble... I always get a three day "hold" on my background checks because of a fight from high school back in 1996, and I thought I always got a raw deal. I now stand corrected on the definition of "raw deal".

Yes, they did kill the teachers. They disarmed them and then a short time later they killed the teachers, the lawyers, the judges, the business leaders, the bankers, the doctors, the engineers, the technicial people of all kinds. They even killed every one who wore eye glasses, was educated or religious.
If one was not deemed to be worth killing, they were sent to the forced labor camps to farm.
The Rouge were not polite masters of thier disarmed subjects.
Rule 1, Do not allow your self to be disarmed!
Rule 2, If you are going to be killed anyway, why not fight?

Well I got a letter earlier this month telling me they will inform me on the conclusion of their investigation. Its july what have they been doing?
Amazing for a man who served his country, never been convicted of anything but a speeding ticket, and teaches English and Social Studies.

Two years ago I was denied a gun purchase in Pennsylvania because of a fight I got into in 1977. The case was nollo prosequi, that is, the prosecutor had the case dismissed. Pennsylvania's reasoning for denying the buy was that it could have been a domestic abuse case, so they were invoking the Lautenburg Amendment retroactively. I was shocked.
A gun dealer at the show told me he got his business license and his state Firearms License pulled because of a bar brawl he had been in in 1935 by this Democratic state administration in Pennsylvania!!! He had to sue the state to get it back.
I went back to Virginia, where I live, and bought the same type of gun there. Virginia's attitude is if the conviction is not domestic abuse, you can buy the gun.
Listen, folks, the anti-gunners are not going to try to pass laws like they did. They will use bureaucrats and "the system" to wear down our gun rights.
It's time you got on your state representative's and state senators' arses and give them a piece of your mind. While you're at it, call a lawyer.

GA Stormtrooper,
Doesn't GA have a CHL program? Get your CHL and be done with the NICS checks for good!
Then aquire as much as you can because I think that dim years are ahead of us. Those who think things are bad under the current administration / Congressional leadership ain't seen nothing yet.

Saleen, just because a state has a CHL license does not mean he can buy without an NICS check. If he's being denied a buy because of government bureaucracy, then he will have an even more difficult time getting a carry permit.
GAStormtrooper, you'd better find a lawyer who's up to snuff on gun laws. If you're an NRA member they can recommend a lawyer to you.

Yes, we do have a concealed weapons permit and that might be a way to work this out. You have to go through an FBI background check. It currently takes about 6 weeks or so. Then no more NICS for you. I have found dealers more willing to deal with permit holders because of the lack hoops to jump through.

This kind of hold up would make me pretty upset. Sorry to hear about "their" mistake. The sad part it that the gunshop is losing since their currentlly out one sale for now.

Carnage 59,
Uhmmm, yes it does. At least in states requiring a background check / fingerprinting ,etc. In Texas, once you have your CHL, you can say goodbye to delays and denials through fraudulent records or similar entries.
Take a look under the NICS section on page 2 of the 4473 next time you buy a gun. It's just past the middle section under where you sign and date the form to certify your answers on front.

I have recieved the letter that allows me to be a citizen again! I have been issued a number which should help me buy stuff but still it was July when this started and i get my gun in the first of october. whos the winner? I missed the summer break where I had hoped to get some trigger time with this lil' beauty. now I gotta wait till the next vacation (winter break...hmmm) At the mercy of the feddies for this long is quite unsettling, and they still haven't told me what the problem was that held me up so long.
Oh yeah , thanks for the support guys, your advice helped alot. if you're in Ga checkout Moss's Pawn in forrest park.good selection ,good conversation and nice prices, thats where my rifle came from. they also held my rifle for a long time when they really didn't have to (which i think was the feds point all along; to get me to leave the gun there and get my cash back).

sounds like a social sec # oddity or a similar name you have to somebody else. It happens in FBI background checks too.
I would also order a credit report to see if someobdy is using your social #

I'm glad you finally got your 'go ahead' on the purchase. I'm used to being put on hold for 15 minutes or so when I buy a gun, but that's just because of my past security clearances and the career field I was in after the military! It seems I have some sort of 'red flag' on my record, and even when I was a licensed FFL dealer I had to go through loopholes with the ATF to get my license. I had to go to 2 government agencies to prove that I had been discharged from their employ.
Also, another thing you mgiht want to keep in mind is that the government is watching every move we make nowadays. That goes to say that if you are a member of any 'questionable' internet forums or have any affiliations with people like the Michigan Militia (example), or even if you have any family overseas you call on a regular basis you might want to tone it down. :big: Just to show you that the FBI is tightening their restraints on who they pass .... I have a buddy that I used to work with that got a job at a local explosives production facility. He had to go through the 9 stages of hell to get the job, but since he did he now has level 5 security clearance. He went through the same thing you did, and they even called his supervisor at work to ask questions about him before they issued permission for him to buy.

Listen, folks, the anti-gunners are not going to try to pass laws like they did. They will use bureaucrats and "the system" to wear down our gun rights.
That is exactly what has happened in South Africa. They tightened the laws to require gun owners to have a license to own guns then simply made the license impossible for normal people to get.
If you don't think it's comming here, just vote Democrat or Republican one more time! Yes, I think it is that close.
