I thought I would put mine back in after the conversion, boy was I wrong! This thing rubs your trigger finger and hangs up the FCG,no use in having this on a converted Saiga.

You have to grind the front edge and around the back a bit. Then not only doesn't it hurt like hell when you shoot, it is out of the way and fits flush when you push it up into the receiver.

There's a reason for that. If you push up on the BHO with your trigger finger while firing it will engage and hold the bolt back. On the S-12 I have done this to serve as a last round BHO. You just have to count your rounds. Makes mag changes easier.
Of course now I just use the automatic version heeheehee. :ywoot

I did what PvtPyle said. I have an AKUSA AK101 and AK103K and did not like the way the BHO stuck down into the trigger area. I shortened mine by grinding a little at a time until it was just right. Now it works and actually looks much better.

The BHO is worth its weight in gold, or more. You need to do two simple mods (if youi are using the G2, one if another group) to the the US hammer (see the original Saiga hammer for dimensions), you should not just slap the SAW grip (if that's what you are using) against the back of the trigger guard and call it a day, as sadly, most 'smiths will do. Use your head. Stay calm. Notice that your hand probably will be happier if the grip is located a distance behind the TG. Exactly where is a custom thing. Use a stainless 1/4" carriage bolt (Home Desperation) to attach the grip, not the BS stuff that comes with the grip. When you have modded the bolt hole in the grip, and checkered the forward underpart of the carriage bolt, dremmel cut a screwdriver slot in the bolt head. Then, epoxy putty bedded it, then crank it down with a socket wrench, wait for the putty to cure prior to fully cranking it down, Thgen, use the same Home Depot, paint dept. epoxy putty to fill the gap between the grip and the TG to custom fit your middle finger knuckle.
After you are done, you will have a grip that feels better than any "gunsmith" job and will perform like gangbusters.
Take a deep breath, and follow basic mechanical common sense. You can do it bro!!

Not worth the time,I'm fine without the BHO,I do not use the saw grip on my S-223,I like the Ergo grip much more.
