Range report! Took the 500, 10/22, m44 and 6 shot .22 pistol to the range today (and my younger brother). Wow, never shot a shotgun before, it kicks fairly hard. We just shot some bird shot but next time I think we will try some reduced recoil buckshot. I had a blast shootin up some paper targets! The other guys up there were really friendly and helpful. Glad I'm involved in a sport like that!

Hey, think of it this way. The more recoil you feel the more the sucker on the receiving end feels it to :)

Mossbergs are great for the money. I've got a 590 that I put a SF short lop pistol gripstock (IV-S) and a sideshell holder onto. It's a nice scattergun, but I just got an 11-87 SP that I shoot way more.

I actually just got my Mossberg 500 today. Was looking for a home defense weapon that wouldn't punch through my walls and keep flying until it hit someon's car in the wal mart parking lot. All in all I'm very happy with it. If someone who can post pics sends me a PM, I can give them the pic to post.

yah i got one, picked it up for $150. unfortunately it is literally falling apart on me. the more that i shoot it, the looser the butt stock gets, and the screw won't budge at all so i can't tighten it. also the safety is loose and goes back to safe after you fire it.

My first gun was a Mossberg 500 persuader when I was 16.
